On Wednesday, MNS Chief Raj Thackeray stated that the protests were not just for a single day. He said that Hanuman Chalisa will be played in the loudspeakers until the loudspeakers that play the azaan are taken down from the mosques.
During the city’s press conference, he reiterated that this issue is a social one and not a religious one.
He said “Ours was not a one-day protest. MNS will continue to play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers outside mosques till loudspeakers play the azaan on mosques. If they play the azaan five times a day, then our people will play Hanuman Chalisa at that time on loudspeakers at double the decibel level. If you want to follow the Supreme Court’s orders, you have to follow the decibels given by them. You can play the loudspeakers from 45 to 55 decibels in residential areas; 45 to 55 decibels is the same amount of noise as a mixer grinder in our home kitchens.”
