2,483 fresh Covid cases have been reported in 24 hours which led to a rise in the country’s Covid tally to 4,30,62,569. There has also been an increase in the active cases by 15,636, as per the updated data of the Union Health Ministry. There has been a rise in the death toll to 5,23,622 along with 1,399 fresh fatalities.
Over 192.85 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been given to the States as well as the Union Territories by the Indian Government. Moreover, there is an availability of over 19.90 crore remaining and unutilized vaccine doses with the States and the UTs that are left to be administered.
In India, Covid vaccination for the ones falling under the age category of 12-14 years began on 16 March. Till now, over 2.70 crore adults have been vaccinated with the first dose.
