Across Maharashtra, over 44,000 school buses have finally received tax relief for two years. On Tuesday, a notification was issued by the government which mentioned that all school buses, whether owned by schools or private contractors – will receive a 100% relief in road tax for the time period between April 1, 2020, and March 31, 2022
Some buses may restart operations from Monday, said the city bus operators. There are around 8,000 school buses in the city.
Anil Garg, School Bus Owners’ Association president said that a part of bus operators had paid tax which would be adjusted with the future payment of taxes in 2022-23.
