A series of meeting were held today by the Prime Minister, in which the government has announced that vaccinations will be widened to everyone above the age of 18 starting from May 1.

In a statement, the government has said that All adults will be vaccinated in “a liberalised and accelerated Phase 3 strategy of COVID-19 vaccination”. India reported a new record of 2.73 lakh cases in a day.

As of now, the government had allowed vaccinations only for the frontline workers and the ones above the age of 45.

“Government has been working hard from over a year to ensure that maximum numbers of Indians are able to get the vaccine in the shortest possible of time,” PM Modi said.
