On Saturday, the congress said its leader Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account had been temporarily suspended, due to a controversy over the removal of an image posted by Rahul Gandhi a day ago.
Mr. Gandhi posted a picture of him with a 9-year-old Dalit girl who died after being allegedly raped in Delhi and wrote “Parents tears are saying only one thing – their daughter, the daughter of this country, deserves justice. And I am with them on this path to justice.”
Twitter removed the controversial post. A message from Twitter read that the tweet has violated its rules.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights asked the Delhi Police and Twitter on Wednesday to take action against Gandhi over the photo. The child rights body said it violated the Juvenile Justice Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act
