The ‘Yatri” app is taking up the digital route for the convenience of commuters. The app is developed at zero cost to the railway exchequer. All the local commuters can get live information about the trains. ‘Yatri’ app has been already downloaded by one lakh passengers. The app has been launched by the Mumbai Division of the Central railway.
The commuters will receive all the live information right from the announcements made on stations and on what platform will their train arrive along with the delays and technical failures. This app is a non-fare revenue initiative.
The features of this app are essential to local passengers which provides them all the information about the suburban trains, stations, and the facilities at their fingertips. This app is available on Android Playstore and iOS App Store.
“This app includes the announcements about delays, cancellation of local trains during monsoon and unusual incidents and will also alert the commuter regarding details of all passenger amenities available at stations, along with other locations such as foot overbridges, toilets, and booking counters,” said a senior official of the Central railways when asked about the difference of currently available apps related to Mumbai local trains.
“The Yatri app is continuously being enhanced to provide improved service to the Mumbai local commuters,” said a CR official.
