Masaba Masaba, the series has finally been premiered on Netflix on the 28th of August, 2020. It’s starring the youthful and the most gorgeous actress Neena Gupta and her daughter; the bold and extravagant Indian Fashion Designer Masaba Gupta.
Masaba Masaba is a show that has singularly female insight into Bollywood and the fashion industry. Most of the series and shows try to portray and glorify the protagonists but this show has a different story in all. It’s not a biopic neither a vanity project but it’s definitely based on Masaba, her life, and reality as she herself is playing her version. You really can’t detect or point out when she is acting or simply being herself! The official trailer has been launched by and on Netflix and is directed by Sonam Nair. The show includes Kiara Advani, Farah Khan, and many senior actors too. But nothing can match the energy the Vibe of the show when the ‘ real Gangsta’ , the scene-stealer Neena Gupta arrives!
The relation, the bond between these two fiercely independent women who have succeeded in life in spite of the steady stream of challenges they have faced is portrayed quite strongly. Other than that the show highlights are about Masaba where she is coming out of a failed marriage accompanied by Neena’s efforts to re-establish herself as an actor in an industry like Bollywood. The plot, the story, thee happenings, the problems might seem of high society but the themes are quite universal and relatable. Yes, the show shows how Masaba throws parties, boarding an exclusive yacht, hobnobbing around with the prestigious and the glamorous people of the industry frequently but the essence of normalness, the original Masaba who is just a regular person like all of us, who deserved and is desperate for love, who makes a hell lot of mistakes too while walking on a path full of obstacles is captured really well.
Netflix released a kick ass and a super groovy song too titled : AUNTY KISKO BOLA BE starring the ‘Little Things’ actor Mithila Palkar and Neena Gupta flaunting her ageless smiles, style, power in glory successfully breaking the stereotypes regarding ‘Old Women called Aunties simply because they’re assumed uncool’.
In the end, all you take back with you is a story that teaches you – ‘depression , problems , hurdles Or anxiety do not ask your passport your privilege or your nationality. We all sail in the same boat and PEOPLE are PEOPLE ‘. And that’s exactly what this show is all about.
Definitely, this mother – daughter duo is killing it on-screen this time !
