A milestone accomplishment has been done by Maharashtra on July 26 as the state became the first state in the country to jab 1 crore individuals of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The 1 crore people have completed the vaccination process by getting 2 inoculations of the vaccine.
On Monday, the state had given two doses to 1,00,99,524 people—nearly 11% of the total 9,37,98,052 fully vaccinated across India—while 2.15 crore have got the first jab.
The total adult population of the state if of 8.5 crores meaning barely 12% people are fully vaccinated and 25% have got one dose.
Considering other states, Uttar Pradesh tops the list of overall vaccinations in the state by administering 4.52 crore jabs but fails to fully vaccinate the population as on 73 lakh individuals have completed their vaccination course.
As per the state government data, 1,06,06,781 individuals aged between 18 and 44 years received their first vaccine dose and 4,8,44,91 received their second dose since the inoculation drive for this age group began on May 1.
