When we listen someone saying ‘ It’s Finger Lickin’ Good ‘, our mouth waters for KFC because, that’s how we know the brand – by it’s Slogans and Taglines.
However, this famous slogan, is receiving attention because it doesn’t go hand in hand with the pandemic situation.
The popular tagline was suspended after 64 years of its start as the ‘Do Not Touch Your Mouth’ norm of Covid-19 wasn’t being satisfied. KFC ran a global campaign asking customers to still enjoy their meals but, this time, without the routine finger licking.
There were tweets being tweeted about the slogan which apparently led to it’s removal.
In an official statement, the company’s Global Chief Marketing officer said,
“We find ourselves in a unique situation – having an iconic slogan that doesn’t quite fit in the current environment. The slogan will be back. Just when the time is right.”
KFC’s Chicken with or without Finger Lickin’ is Good, but, the act of licking is when the meal is complete.
Now that, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has urged people to completely avoid touching their Eyes, Nose and Mouth until necessary, the Finger Lickin’ must pause for a while.
Let’s hope things get back to normal soon.
