On Saturday, as per the data of the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 39,070 fresh Covid-19 cases and 491 deaths in the span of 24 hours.
With this, the overall tally of cases has jumped to 3,19,34,455 while the death toll stands at 4,27,862.
5 states are responsible for the reported cases. Kerala reported the maximum of all with 20,367 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 6,061 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,969 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 1,908 cases and Karnataka with 1,610 cases.
The active cases reduced to 4,06,822 in the said time period. The national Covid-19 recovery rate improved to 1.29%. The number of active cases fell by 5331.
The total number of vaccine doses administered so far has reached 500 million under the nationwide vaccination drive.
