Prachi Desai turns 31 today. As the starlet turns 31 today, here’s some of the memorable roles of the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa winner.

 

A PROMISING DEBUT

Desai started her acting career with Ekta Kapoor’s soap opera Kasamh Se. Being the female lead, she starred with Ram Kapoor as Bani Dixit. The show was on air for three years within the time frame of 2006-2009. Prachi went on to receive many awards for her role.

 

ROCKING ENTRY IN BOLLYWOOD

Prachi made a transition to the film industry in 2008. Her first film was Rock On(2008), directed by Abhishek Kapoor, where she played the wife of Farhan Akhtar, Sakshi Shroff Desai had to leave Kasamh Se to act in Rock On.

 

BEAUTY AND THE BANDIT

Prachi went on to portray the role of Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi’s) girlfriend Mumtaaz in the Milan Luthria directed gangster film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. The film hit the screens in 2010 and all the four lead actors which included Ajay Devgan, Kangana Ranaut, Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai were applauded for their performances. Prachi was also the talk of the town owing to her bold appearance in the movie’s track Pee Loon.

 

VENTURING INTO COMEDY

Prachi essayed the role of Radhika Raghuvanshi in the 2012 film Bol Bachchan.Directed by Rohit Shetty, Prachi played Radhika as Prithvi Raghuvanshi (Ajay Devgan’s) sister and Abbas Ali ( Abhishek Bachchan’s) romantic interest. The film was received well with the audience. Recently, Prachi pointed out a tweet from Ajay Devgan on how the Golmaal actor congratulated the father-son Bachchan duo for the success of the movie. Desai pointed out on how the other cast of the film were also vital in the movie’s success.

 

DESAI POTRAYS NAUREEN IN CRICKETER BIOGRAPHY

Prachi stepped into the shoes of Naureen Azhar, first wife of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin whose involvement was found in a match fixing case. Starring with Emraan Hashmi and Nargis Fakhri in the lead, Desai was critically appreciated for her character portrayal. Her dialogue from the movie “Tumhare aage badne ki duayein maine maangi … aaj mujhe hi peeche chhod diya’ was one of the famous lines.

A perfect example of how instead of waiting to start big, start small so that you can grow big. Her journey from the soap operas to reality shows to silver screen genres of comedy, biography and gangster themed movies show her versatility and acting skills.
