In May, the case was assigned by Supreme Court to the Varanasi district judge’s court. On Monday, the challenge by Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee was dismissed by the Varanasi District and Sessions court.

Petitions were filed by five women seeking the right to worship Maa Shringar Gauri. However, the Muslim side’s petition was rejected by the court. The court said that the suit is maintainable. Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, who represented the Hindu side said that the case will be heard on September 22.
