Durga Pooja is here and artists, through their idols are giving out their best to bring in the liveliness in their idols. This Durga Pooja, one of such artists named Chetan Raut has gathered all the attention and busy making Heads for the media for his extraordinary work.

Chetan Raut, the Mumbai-based artist, created a 6-feet long Portrait of Goddess Durga using ’31,000 Push Pins’. The portrait includes six colour pins pinned on a board in a sequence, crafting it into a Huge Portrait of the goddess.

“It took me 36 hours to create this mosaic art with the help of six people. I have used pins of six colours,”
said Chetan Raut, the mosaic artist.

This year, a lot of such examples of exemplary models during the festive season have been seen. One such is a pandal, The Barisha Club Durga Puja committee in Behala, Kolkata that established a Durga statue that dedicates itself to migrant workers as a tribute to their struggles amid the coronavirus pandemic. The migrant worker mother idol also carries a shirtless child in her arms, in place of Kartik.

Another instance is that Pandals in West Bengal have installed idols that resemble the novel coronavirus with a round structure and spikes as this year’s theme.

Keeping the festive spirit high, every state government has placed strict guidelines to make sure social distancing is maintained.

Durga Pooja is set to begin from October 22 and it has been appealed to worshippers and believers to enjoy the event at their homes and avoid crowded places to stay safe.
