The Indian Air Force base (IAF) in Jammu was attacked by 2 explosives-laden drones weeks ago when India didn’t have a tech of the same. Rembering the same, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in his address mentioned that the Defence Research and Development Organisation is working on indigenous counter-drone technology.
Shah in his address said that the Drones will be made available soon as the Union government has already sanctioned all the Research and Development projects required in this regard.
“Smuggling of drugs, arms, and explosives through tunnels and drones is a major challenge. Today, it is very important for us to deal with these challenges at the earliest. I am confident that we will soon increase our presence at the borders with Swadeshi (made-in-India) anti-drone technology,” the Union Minister said at an investiture ceremony of the Border Security Force (BSF).
