On Wednesday, it was announced by Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai that the complete ban on the production, sale, and use of all kinds of firecrackers will be extended till January 1, 2023. This ban is being extended to curb pollution during the festival. The extension of the ban on firecrackers has also been done on the online sale of firecrackers, said the Minister.
The Minister tweeted “Production, storage, sale and use of all types of firecrackers are being completely banned so that people’s lives can be saved.” “Online sale/delivery of firecrackers will also be banned in Delhi this time. The restriction will remain in force till January 1, 2023.”
In order to create awareness about not bursting firecrackers, a campaign names ‘patakhe nahi diye jalao’ had also been launched by the AAP.
