On Sunday, the Mumbai University released SOPs for its affiliated colleges. Some colleges are geared up to open their gates whereas some will be holding internal meetings along with their staff and management in order to discuss modalities and finer details.
The SOP states:
- Institutes that do not fall under any containment zones can reopen.
- Only fully vaccinated students will be allowed to attend the college.
- The circular states that the students must be given an option to attend online as well as offline lectures.
- The institutes must possess a Covid vaccination certificate of the staff and students who attend the offline lectures.
- The lecturer and the first benchers must maintain a 6-8 feet gap.
Measures to be taken are;
- Every institute must have a medical practitioner available at all times.
- Any symptomatic person spotted must be isolated. The nearest medical facility and authorities must be informed incase if the person is detected as Covid Positive.
- In order to avoid crowding at exit and entry points, the institutes need to ensure staggered timings for various streams or courses.
- The shops, cafeteria and stalls inside or within the campus will remain closed.
- There must be regular sanitisation of common surfaces and office spaces too.
