Navratri celebrations are just around the corner and the BMC has issued fresh guidelines amid the growing fear of Covid-19 and Dengue cases.

Here is what will be allowed and what will not be allowed,

  • No Garba allowed
  • No prasad and flower distribution, setting up of such stalls have been restricted.
  • Online darshan is encouraged as more than 5 people will not be allowed in the pandal.
  • Temperature screening will be done for individuals who go for physical darshan.
  • The Civic Body directed that the main area of the pandal will be sanitized 3 times a day.
  • It is mandatory for public mandals to take the permission of the BMC, stated the circular.
  • In the case of public mandals, the height of the idol will be 4 feet and the height of the home idol will be 2 feet.
  • Citizens have been asked to bring environment-friendly or shadu idols and have asked them to try to immerse the idols in their house itself in order to avoid gathering.
  • Mandals will be holding blood donation camps or will be creating public awareness for vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue.
  • The civic body has pointed out noise pollution should be reduced to the bare minimum. 

People have been urged to use the clay idols over the Plastic of Pari and have been asked to immerse them in their homes or in the artificial ponds that are created by the civic bodies.
