A directive has been issued by the Nashik Police Commissioner stating that Bhajans or other songs will be played by none on the loudspeakers in the 15 minute time period before and after azaan call within a 100-meter radius of any mosque which comes under the Nashik Police Commissionerate jurisdiction.
Moreover, on Monday, a directive has also been issued by the Commissioner to the religious places in the city and has instructed them to take permission for the use of loudspeakers. Furthermore, the directive read that by May 3, the permission needs to be taken or else legal action will be taken against the ones who violate the rule.
“Every church, temple, gurudwara and mosque will have to file an application at Nashik police commissionerate seeking permissions to use loudspeakers. This order will come into effect from May 3,” the order read.
Also, the commissioner has directed the religious places to make use of the loudspeakers within the allowed decibel level according to the Supreme Court’s order.
