The country is seeing a surge in the Covid-19 cases since quite a few weeks now and the state of Maharashtra remains to be on top of the case-contributors list.
On Friday, Maharashtra recorded 62,919 COVID-19 cases which took the tally of the Coronavirus infection in the state to 46,024,72.
Apart from this, in 24 hours, 69,710 patients were discharged from hospitals making the number of recovered patients change to 38,68,976.
As of Friday night, the number of active cases in Maharashtra stands at 6,62,640.

Mumbai being one of the bigger contributors to the Coronavirus cases in the state recorded 3,925 new cases, which is almost 300 less than the previous day. It also saw 89 fatalities, taking the city’s active case tally to 65,670 and the death toll to 13,125.
On Thursday, Mumbai registered 4,192 new Covid-19 cases and 82 deaths.
Vaccination being the only way to stop the virus after a strict follow of protocol, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) showcased the Vaccination data that showed the testing of 38,848 samples on Thursday, while 43,525 samples were tested on Friday.
Amidst this, currently, the recovery rate in Mumbai is 88% with a doubling rate of 87 days. It was the doubling rate that changed in the last 24 hours from 79 on Thursday to 87 on Friday whereas the recovery rate stands still.
