New York : According to a survey by Wall Street Journal, The Democrats have garnered the support of over 53% registered voters following the contentious debate between the Democrat Nominee Joe Biden and President Donald Trump on Tuesday and Trump testing Covid-19 positive.
According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Sunday, a majority of Americans think Trump could have avoided infection had he accepted the seriousness of the pandemic.
POTUS Donald Trump has constantly made the headlines for dismissing the seriousness of the pandemic and just last week, he reprimanded Biden for wearing a protective mask. This chiding came in the middle of millions being infected with the virus worldwide and most parts of the world remaining in lockdown.
According to the poll, 65% of Americans are deeply worried about the virus, with 34% saying they believed Trump had been telling them the truth about the virus, 11% said they were not sure and 55% said he was not. However, 57% of Americans said they were against Trump’s response to the pandemic.
Biden now holds a 14-percentage-point lead against the president, with 53% of registered voters backing him and 39% supporting Trump. The poll shows a 6-point jump for Biden from a Sept. 20 NBC/WSJ poll. Biden’s biggest lead in the poll previously was in July at 11 points.
Although Biden has secured the national popular vote early, he needs to prevail in enough states to win the Electoral College and the presidency. State polls as of now show that Trump is just as popular as Biden in battleground states.
POTUS Trump, 74, has been admitted to Walter Reed on Friday after testing positive for the Coronavirus. Whether Trump’s diagnosis affects the election results or not is something that only the election results will be able to tell.
