A police station official from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut was seen distributing Gangajal as sanitizer.and said to people that it will help them stay away from various diseases.
On Sunday, Prem Chand Sharma who is a Station House Officer (SHO) of Nauchandi Police station said that this year he is distributing bottles of Gangajal as a gift on Holi to the ones who are coming to the police station to file a complaint.
Amid the pandemic, Sharma has asked people to sprinkle sanitiser, which he termed it as gangajal. He said that it will protect them with various diseases.
“On the occasion of Holi,people should not give liquor to anyone but give a bottle of Gangajal. Gangajal is sanitiser. Spray it to stay protected from all diseases,” said Sharma.
Superintendent of Police Vinit Bhattnagar said sanitizers were kept in every police station. I do not know why ‘Gangajal’ is being used for this. I am not aware of this.“
Sharma said that he believes in maintaining law and order with dedication.“My test seems to be successful,” he said. People have become less aggressive. They came here and filed their complaint in peace. The whole Naochandi region has calmed down. However, we are not shying away from police action against miscreants.
