India now has a ‘Swadeshi’ Twitter named as TOOTER. The app has hit the internet and the meme makers have got new material for them. Tooter’s interface is similar to that of Twitter that has a white-n-blue color scheme. The app icon is also almost similar and uses a Conch Shell (Shank) instead of a bird on a blue background.
The app is active since the months of June-July, but it grabbed the attention of the netizens on Tuesday, November 24, on Twitter.
Tooter claims to be ‘Swadeshi Andolan 2.0’. Tooter says – “We believe that India should have a Swadeshi social network. Without one we are just a digital colony of the American Twitter India Company, no different than what we were under the British East India Company. Tooter is our Swadeshi Andolan 2.0. Join us in this Andolan. Join us!”
