On Monday, the Supreme Court granted interim protection to ex Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh from arrest in six FIRs lodged against him in the state. He has been asked to join the investigation.
This order came into being after Param Bir Singh’s lawyer informed the court that the officer does not want to abscond. He has gone into hiding as he was facing a threat to his life from the Mumbai Police.
The lawyer further added that Singh is living in the country and has sought protection from the apex court.
