On Wednesday, a meeting has been scheduled with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to rename the iconic Rajpath from Rashtrapati Bhavan as Kartavya Path, meaning the Path of Duty.
BJP Leader and Vice Chairperson of NDMC Satish Upadhyay said, “We are convening a special meeting on September 7 to discuss and rename the Central Vista and Rajpath stretch as Kartavya Path. The proposal is yet to come but the meeting has been called. All members and officials concerned will participate in the meeting,” reported The Indian Express.
After the BJP came to power, the Race Course road was renamed Lok Kalyan Marg and Aurangzeb Road is renamed Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
