Police catches ambulance carrying 200 kg marijuana in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur

Police in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur caught an ambulance smuggling 200 kilos of marijuana.
Police came to know about an increase in Marijuana smuggling in their area but couldn’t find out.
Meanwhile, a special team was constituted, it was through a tip-off, the team was informed about a huge cache of marijuana being transported to Srilanka through Thanjavur.
Police initiated a search and stopped an ambulance whose driver was behaving suspiciously. While searching the vehicle, police found 200 kilos of marijuana in several sacs.
Upon inquiry, it was found that a gang was trying to smuggle the goods to Srilanka. They were detained. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
