PM Narendra Modi said, “We have decided to repeal all three farm laws, will begin the procedure at the Parliament session that begins this month. I urge farmers to return home to their families and let’s start afresh.”
On Friday, PM Modi apologized to the country and announced the repeal of the three contentious farm laws against the farmers of Punjab and Haryana who have been protesting at the borders of Delhi.
The occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti was chosen by the PM to announce the repeal of three farm laws that is the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020.
