On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a video conference launched physical distribution of property cards under Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) scheme while interacting with the beneficiaries of the scheme.
The beneficiaries will now have a right, a legal document of owning their houses.

The scheme will help in making Rural India self-reliant which acts as a step towards AtmaNirbhar Bharat.
Legal papers of houses of one lakh beneficiaries have been handed over from Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh today. Within the next 3-4 years, such property cards will be given to every household in every village of the country, promised PM Modi.
