It has been made very clear by the Central Government to the Supreme Court that there is no Covid vaccination mandate and vaccination is not mandatory.

The Government has emphasized that the Covid vaccination is in a larger public interest and it has been advised with communication through advertisements over print and social media platforms that all the citizens should get vaccinated. With this, the Government has stated that no individual can be forced to be vaccinated against their will.

It has been informed to the Court by the Union Of India that a total of 23,678 doses have been administered to disabled persons who have voluntarily chosen to be known as such by making the use of their Unique Disability ID Card/Disability Certificate for registration at the time of their vaccination.
