The students who were a part of the hijab protests will not be given another chance to give their practical exams. The government on Sunday, after giving a hint at the re-exam, has ruled out the option for the absent students for the practical exams that were conducted as a part of the board exams.

Primary and Secondary education minister BC Nagesh said “How can we even consider the possibility? If we allow the students who boycotted the practicals for not being allowed to wear hijab to the exam even after the high court gave its interim order, then another student will come citing some other reason and seek a second chance. It is impossible.”

In the Pre-University exams, the practicals are held for 30 marks and theories are held for 70 marks. The students who were absent for the practicals will lose 30 marks and they can go for the theory exam.
