On Wednesday, Maharashtra’s Higher Education Minister Uday Samant confirmed that this year, there would be no Common Entrance Test (CET) for college or university admissions into various UG courses.

The decision was taken on August 4, 2021 chaired by Samant.

The state government has clarified that the degree admission for the UG courses in Arts, Science and Commerce would be held only on the basis of Maharashtra HSC Result 2021.

Samant also said that seats in colleges can be increased meaning, top colleges will have a higher cut off than last year leading to more competition among students for admission.

“We have decided to increase the number of centres where CETs will be conducted,” Samant said.
