Amidst the controversy surrounding the logo of Myntra, the Flipkart owned company has decided to change their logo on their website, their app and all packaging and promotional materials. This E commerce site Myntra has decided to change their logo as a woman from Mumbai has filed a complaint against the company alleging that the logo is offensive towards women.
The complaint was registered by Naaz Patel from an NGO named Avesta Foundation in December last year. Naaz demanded that the logo should be changed and appropriate action must be taken against the company if they fail to change their logo. The complaint was lodged at the Mumbai Police’s Cyber Cell unit and to which DCP of Mumbai Cyber Crime Department Rashmi Karandikar said that following the complaint they found that the logo was indeed offensive in nature for women, following which they sent an email to Myntra after which the company’s official met with the police and agreed to make changes to the logo in a month’s time, said Karandikar.
Following with the company changing their logo, the online shopping app also decided to change the logo on the website, the app and on packaging material. The report added that Myntra has already issued printing orders for packaging material with the new logo.
Myntra is one of the largest online app store and retailer for clothes, shoes and accessories in India. The annual winter sale was a big jump since the company logged a whopping 51 percent increase in the website traffic during 2020.
