On Sunday, the city recorded 896 new cases of Covid, being the highest single day spike since June 23. Cumulative cases of the city stood at 770,910, reporting 2 deaths as compared to 23 fatalities on 23rd June.
Maharashtra, on Sunday, reported 1,648 Covid-19 cases, its highest single day increase in 64 days. On October 23, the state had reported 1,710 cases.
The experts have said that it will take almost two weeks of sustained rise of the cases for them to conclude whether this is the third Covid wave.
