The BMC has planned to create a safe school zone in Mumbai in order to make the roads and footpaths outside the schools safe for children.

With this, the BMC has aimed to create child-friendly and walkable school zones in the city.

This will include testing design solutions that will make roads walkable, safer, barrier free and more vibrant for the road users and children especially.

As a part of its pilot project, the BMC has launched a ‘Safe School Zone’ in Byculla’s Mirza Ghalib Road.
