On Thursday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) sealed the St. Joseph’s Boarding School situated in Agripada. The school was shut after at least 22 students were found positive for the deadly Corona Virus.
As per reports, 4 students of these were below 12 years of age. The children were admitted to Nair hospital. The remaining 18 children were above the age mark of 12 but, under 18 and have been taken to Richardson and Cruddas Covid-19 facility for treatment.
Maharashtra has been the worst hit state due to the coronavirus pandemic and this situation comes amid the third wave prediction that is supposed to be a threat for the children more. The scientists, anyway, have dismissed saying that this speculation has no scientific backing.
Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are the states in which the active cases of Covid-19 are between 10,000 to 1,00,000. Kerala accounts for 51% of the total active cases in the country, Maharashtra is responsible for 16% and 4%-5% are in the remaining 3 states (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh).
