Anubhav Sinha, the Thappad director, announced a collaboration with Manoj Bajpayee for ‘Something Special’ on 28th August. The duo is working with Bhushan Kumar for a Bhojpuri track to revive the charm of the Bhojpuri music.
Manoj Bajpayee then posted the Teaser of a Bhojpuri Rap – ‘Bambai Mein Ka Ba’ on Instagram on Saturday, and the ‘Like’ button didn’t seem to rest even for a while.
Back in the ’70s and ’80s, Bhojpuri songs had a prominent role in the music industry. ‘Chalat Musafir Moh Liya Re’, ‘Khaike Paan Banaras Wala’ and ‘Ee Hai Bambai Nagariya’ have been memorized by every Indian.
‘We were chatting about Bhojpuri songs and I happen to share him my composition. He loved it and we started recording the next week,’ replied Anubhav when asked about the collaboration with Bajpayee. Anubhav says that he wants to revive the beauty of Bhojpuri songs having a personal connect to it. ‘The Song is in the Memory of my Mom’ adds Sinha.
Bhushan Kumar said that his relationship with Anubhav is more than professional as they’ve worked together quite a few times and that, this track is Special.
