Maharashtra witnessed a drop in Covid tally with 33,470 fresh cases, Mumbai’s positivity rate stands at 23%

On Monday, Maharashtra logged in 33,470 fresh Covid cases taking the active caseload to 2,06,046. This tally is about 10% less than that of Sunday’s figures when 44,388 cases were logged.

In Maharashtra, as many as 31 patients were found to be infected with the Omicron variant. Out of these, the highest number comes from Pune (28) followed by Pune Rural (2) and Pimpri Chinchwad (1). Till now, as many as 1,247 patients have been detected with Omicron variant in the state.

The cumulative caseload of Covid in Maharashtra touched 69,53,514 cases. 29,671 patients have been cured from the disease and eight related fatalities. The total recoveries and the death toll have reached 66,02,103 and 1,41,647 respectively.

Mumbai also witnessed a slight drop in the cases with 13,648 new cases being registered in the last 24 hours.
