From now on, bikers who are found without helmets and the ones in cars found without seatbelts are likely to be fined Rs.1000.

Such bikers will also fall at risk of losing their license for three months. 

On Friday, the Maharashtra government has cleared decks for a whopping increase in fines for committing traffic offenses as per the Motor Vehicle Act, 2019. An official said that it will be notified on Monday, today. 

For the offense of drinking and driving, the penalty will be decided by the court after prosecution.
