It has been 5 days since Indian Journalist Arnab Goswami is jailed. Recently, Maharashtra’s Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari was seen showing concern about the health and safety of Arnab Goswami.
The governor spoke to Maharashtra’s Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and expressed his worry about Republic TV’s editor, Arnab Goswami’s security and health, said the Raj Bhavan statement. Koshyari has also urged the Home Minister to allow Goswami’s family to connect to him.
Raj Bhavan, in a statement said that, “Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari spoke to Maharashtra’s Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and conveyed to him his concern over the security and health of news anchor and editor-in-chief of Republic Media Network Arnab Goswami. The Governor also asked the Home Minister to allow the family of Arnab Goswami to see him and to speak to him.”
It was not the first time that Governor Koshyari was seen showing his concern for Goswami to Deshmukh. Previously, Koshyari had conveyed his concern over the manner in which R-TV Chief Arnab Goswami was arrested.
Arnab Goswami was arrested by Alibaugh Police on November 4 in relevance to a 2018 abetment to suicide case. The reporter was picked up from his house. Goswami was shifted to a jail from prison quarantine center on Sunday after being alleged of using his cellphone for social media activity.
The High Court of Bombay denied the bail application of Goswami on Monday.
