In Karnataka, Ola, Uber, rapido auto services will be stopped within three days. On Thursday, an order was passed by the Karnataka Transport Department and termed these services ‘illegal’.
As per the transport department, complaints were logged in by various commuters for Uber and Ola charging Rs.100 even when the distance was less than two kilometres.
In Bengaluru, Rs.30 is the fixed minimum fare for a distance of the first two kilometres and will keep adding Rs.15 for each kilometre after.
The companies are provided with three days by the state government to file a reply and a compliance report too.
