Odisha Puri’s famous Jagannath Temple has reopened its gates for it devotees from Monday, August 23, 2021. The temple was shut for more than 4 months due to the prevailed locked and Covid-restrictions. The administration then allowed people to enter the shrine gradually.
The first phase of the temple reopened on August 12 but only family members of the servitors were allowed inside the shrine. The administration allowed the residents of Puri municipality to have Darshan of the Holy Trinity from August 16 to August 20. In the third phase, outsiders are allowed to enter the Srimandir from August 23.
The administration has now set guidelines for the people who want to visit the temple.
As per the standard operating procedure (SOP) by the state government, all devotees will be allowed to enter the shrine from 7am to 7pm from Monday to Friday.
On Sunday, police urged devotees to share their feedback in order to improve their experience of visiting the shrine.
