The Indian Navy’s strength has now been increased after it received two MH-60 multi-role helicopters (MRH) from the United States, on Saturday.
India received the two giants after a long wait of almost a Decade.
Marking a new era of collaboration and partnership between US and India after the delivery of the first two MH-60R ‘Romeo’ helicopters to the Indian Navy, the Indian Navy and the country is thankful to the US.
The two are just the tip of the iceberg as the Indian Navy is procuring 24 of these MRH helicopters that are manufactured by Lockheed Martin under foreign military sales from the US government at an estimated cost of $2.4 billion (1,79,06,52,00,000.00 Indian Rupee).
The Indian Ambassador to the USA, Taranjit Singh Sandhu accepted the choppers which were formally handed over by the US Navy to the Indian Navy in a ceremony held at the United States naval air station in San Diego’s North Island.
Helicopter documents were also exchanged between officials of the US Navy and the Indian Navy.
