From April 18-24, the country has reported over 15,700 new Covid cases. In the previous week, India had 8,050 Covid cases. In this week, India saw a 95% increase in fresh Covid cases. With a majority of cases coming from the NCR cities, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh accounted for most of the cases during that week. Only these three states had logged in the rise in cases.
Apart from these, nine other states including Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Rajasthan and Punjab reported a rise in cases this week.
A 48% of increase in the cases has been reported by Maharashtra – 996 cases logged in during the week. Kerala reported nearly 1,790 new Covid cases. Karnataka reported 565 cases, Tamil Nadu reported 62% increase, Bengal with 66% increase and Telangana with 24% increase.
