On Sunday, Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal questioned the Centre over the Ration Scheme in the country. CM Kejriwal said that if food items like Pizza can be Home Delivered then why not Ration?

“Just two days before ‘Doorstep Delivery of Ration’ scheme’s implementation in Delhi, the central government stopped it. If pizza, burgers, smartphones and clothes can be delivered at home, then why can’t ration be delivered at their doorstep?” Mr Kejriwal asked.

Kejrival added in saying, “For the first time, a government had taken a step to check on ration mafia. See how powerful they (ration mafia) are, they got the scheme cancelled just a week ahead of its implementation.”

Kejriwal was addressing an online press conference wherein he said that the Centre’s claim that his government did not take permission for the implementation of the scheme is false. The CM said that the state had written multiple letters to the centre mentioning that the scheme is going to be implemented and for taking approval. He said the Delhi government did this without any legal obligation to do so.

“My government sought approval five times from the centre despite no such permission needed as per the law,” he said.

Not just this but during the address, Kejriwal also said that the Centre has objection against nothing but the name of the Ration Scheme – ‘Mukhyamantri Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana’.

“Our goal was not to make our name shine. Anyhow this scheme should be implemented and the poor should start getting their ration. We accepted your point and removed the name of the scheme itself. We accepted all the objections you made. After all this, you say that we did not take your approval? How else to get approval, sir,” he said, addressing the PM.
