It is the request of the schools to make attendance in offline classes compulsory, however, the students who are attending online mode are complaining that they are being left out by teachers when the hybrid mode goes on.
The schools in Mumbai have already opened after the Diwali vacation. In view of the voluntary attendance, the physical classroom strength of the students is below 50%, says the head of schools.
Across Maharashtra, the students from classes 5-12 are free to choose between online and offline modes of lectures. In the city, the students from classes 8-12 are allowed for offline classes.
