Leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis has announced that he will take the responsibility of 100 children who have lost their parents due to Covid-19. He will look after their education, health and nutrition. Fadnavis announced this decision while inaugurating novel concept to be implemented by NGO ‘Sobat’ at Nagpur. It has been launched at the behest of former mayor of Nagpur Sandeep Joshi.
“Not just for the first 100 children that have been registered today, I will contribute for each child registered from Nagpur South West assembly constituency which is represented by me,” Fadnavis announced.
This initiative was launched to mark the birthday of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He also praised the senior BJP leader saying that he stepped in when the COVID-19 situation went out of control in Nagpur and Vidarbha, and arranged oxygen supply, ventilators and oxygen concentrators. On the occasion, former ministers Girish Raut and Chandrasekhar Bawankule were also present.
While lauding the concept, Fadnavis said that the project being launched today is commendable and can be emulated elsewhere.
