On Tuesday, Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog (RKA), the government body set up under Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying for cow welfare, announced that it will hold a countrywide online examination on ‘gau vigyan’ (cow science). This is a step taken in order to ‘infuse knowledge’ among people about the importance of cows and also to ‘educate’ then about the bovine species.
The examination – Kamdhenu Gau-Vigyan Prachar-Prasar Pareeksha – will be held on February 25, Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog (RKA) chairman Vallabhbhai Kathiria said.
“We are starting ‘Kamdhenu Gau Vigyan Prachar Prasar Examination’ at the national level from February 25, 2021. Cow is full of science that needs to be explored. It plays an important role in 5 trillion economies of the country,” he said during a press conference.

Exam Details:
- The exam will be conducted on February 25.
- It will be an Online Exam.
- There will be no fees to be given for the exam.
- The exam will be held in 12 regional languages apart from Hindi and English.
- It will follow the Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) pattern.
- There will be a 100 MCQs in the exam.
- Online registration is open from January 14 to February 20, and results will be declared on February 25 itself.
- The Registration Link for this online exam will be available on website of RashtriyaKamdhenuAayog, which is “kamdhenu.gov.in” / “kamdhenu.blog”.
- The duration will be one hour and there will be 4 categories.
- The 4 categories are:
1) Primary level up to 8th standard
2) Secondary level from class 9th to class 12th
3) College level after 12th
4) General public.
The ministry said, “Blogs, videos and other selected reading material will be uploaded on official website. Scientists, entrepreneurs, Gau Sevaks, farmers, youth and women as well as senior citizens will actively work to make this mega event a grand success.”
