Covid-19 has stayed for almost 8 months now and India is seeing news cases every day. The country’s capital is said to be going through its Third Wave and currently, Delhi has overtaken Maharashtra and Kerala becoming the largest daily contributor to fresh Covid-19 cases.
On Monday, the Union Health Ministry said that out of all, 79% of the 45,903 fresh covid–19 cases that came up on Sunday were from only 10 states and Union Territories (UT’s). The Ministry added that Delhi has crossed Maharashtra and Kerala by recording 7,745 cases in 24 hours, becoming the largest contributor towards the daily Covid-19 tally of the country. Delhi also overtook the two states on November 7 too.
Delhi Health Minister, Satyendra Jain, on Monday said that Delhi has hit the peak of the third wave of Covid-19 virus. Experts have also claimed that the peak will stay for 4-5 days more. The sudden spike in the cases of the capital were seen amid the festive season and another major contributing factor to this is the rising pollution level.
People have been seen moving without masks and most of the cases are being found in the working class.
It has been around a week since Delhi is seen recording high numbers of the positive virus patients, daily.
Other states which continue to be worst hit from the pandemic are Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal, Karnataka, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
