Covid-19 : Bikaner set to be the 1st city in India to start with door to door vaccination

Rajasthan’s Bikaner city is all set to become India’s first city to start door to door vaccination and the service will commence from June 15. People above the age of 45 will be highly benefited from this service. Eligible people can register themselves on the helpline number which has been enabled by the Rajasthan Government and they will have to provide their names and addresses through their WhatsApp number. People have to note that the service can only be availed by only those who have registered themselves on the helpline number.

As per reports, the vaccine van will leave to inoculate people in their homes only after registering at least 10 people. 10 people can be vaccinated using 1 vial. At present, Bikaner has 16 Urban Primary health centres. The doctors in these health centres have been asked to monitor the people getting inoculated at home.

“Vaccination on wheels” service was also started by the Bikaner Administration on Saturday,June 12. It aims at inoculating people at crowded places. The service has also deployed three mobile vans wherein the people in the 45+ age group can go and get their Covid vaccine jab after showing their identity proof.

So far, Rajasthan has given 1st dose to over 33.15 lakh people, while 1,109 have received the second jab.

On Saturday, 368 new COVID-19 infections pushed the state’s infection tally to 9,49,376. Covid death toll in the state has risen to 8,815 with 16 more fatalities.
