On Friday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that his government will give an ex-gratia of Rs. 1 crore to the the families of 2 Delhi Police Officers, a Civil Defence volunteer and 3 Air Force officers who lost their lives on duty.
The Delhi Cabinet took the decision to this effect. The Revenue Department proposed to provide ex-gratia, which was approved by the Cabinet on the instructions of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The 2 Police Officers and the civil defence volunteer lost their lives in three separate road accident cases reported between 2016 and 2020. They were all deployed in pickets and hit by speeding vehicles.
Out of the 3 Air Force officers, 2 of them dies in the same aircraft wreckage incident in Arunachal Pradesh in 2019 and the third officer lost his life in a MiG-21 aircraft crash in the Kangra Hills in Himachal Pradesh in 2018.
