On Thursday, a review meeting was held by the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan with senior officials of the State and Union Territories and has urged them to ensure the availability of adequate buffer stock of a total of eight critical drugs that are used for Covid-19 treatment.

Along with this, he has also asked to ensure that all hospitals are ready to deal with any possible surge in Covid cases.

Health Ministry issued a statement that said that the states were informed that many ventilators supplied by the Centre are still unpacked and unused at some field hospitals.

It also added, “This needs to be reviewed immediately to ensure that all PSA oxygen plants, oxygen concentrators, and ventilators are installed and are functioning.”
